Your artwork should be an original piece of visual art that’s inspired by your imagination. All visual art will be accepted, except film.You must be at least 25 years old at the time of entry to compete.Find more information about artwork and eligibility specifics in the Official Rules.
The Artisan Series celebrates artists whose imagination and creativity transform how we see the world. A panel of judges will review entries with the following criteria in mind: Line, Composition, Creativity & Uniqueness, Execution of Medium & Difficulty of Process and Original Work.
Artists and consumers are invited to attend each event where one (1) artist will be selected as the Regional Winner by a panel of judges.
There are 14 regions – Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.

One regional winner is selected from each region.

All Regional Finalists (excluding the 14 Regional Winners) and up to 103 Online Finalists, will be featured online. Voting is open to the public and two (2) entries with the highest votes will be deemed the Online Winners. The two (2) Online Winners will advance to SCOPE Miami Beach to exhibit their work.

Two (2) winners will be selected by highest vote from online voting.

No. The contest is for original works of art only. The original work must also be available for display during SCOPE Miami Beach and at the Artisan Finale event.

No. Only artwork created by one artist is accepted.

No. Submit what you think is your best and most inspiring artwork.

No. Your work does not have to be inspired by BOMBAY SAPPHIRE.

In the event that an artist is selected to move on to the regionals and that piece is no longer available, we will accept a piece that comes from the same thematic body of work using the same medium with similar dimensions.

We collaborate with local and nationally recognized curators, artists, galleries and collectors throughout the competition. Representatives from a pool of respected candidates are selected as judges.

Yes. A grand finale event will be hosted in Miami where three winners will be selected. A panel of judges will select one Grand Prize Winner and a First Place winner. Event attendees will vote on the People’s Choice Winner.

No. For information on prizes refer to the Official Rules.

No. Regional Winners and Online Winners in any of the 2013-2015 Artisan Series Contests are not eligible to enter.

No, but the artist is required to send a representative to attend the event to accept the award on their behalf.

Yes. The gallery or museum partner take a 50% commission split, but BOMBAY SAPPHIRE and Artisan Series do not.

Bombay Sapphire asks entrants only for the right to reproduce photographs of their work in order to display the image online and promote the contest and its winners. All competing artists maintain full ownership and rights to their artwork.

Yes. Artwork from winning artists has been purchased. Some work has been sold to music and movie moguls, as well as prominent national collectors.
